Hi, all!
As promised, I am arranging the next posts about the embroidery course I've attended at Studio Auriga last 7th February.
In the meanwhile, can you imagine what I am going to do with... THESE?
From the left: Aurifloss #2024, #2425, #2692
"Mille Colori per l'Emilia" is a solidarity project: quilters from all parts of Italy will donate one (or more) baby quilt as a gesture of love, by the world of patchwork, to those babies who experienced the terrible earthquake of last 20th May 2012 in Emilia Romagna.
I don't quilt yet (I promise I'll learn asap), but wanted to leave a mark, in some way. These children will attend the elementary school soon, so I thought that cross stitched bookmarks would be suitable. Aurifil Owners - Mr Alex Veronelli and Mrs Elena Gregotti - were happy to "sponsor" me in this adventure, so here I am, ready to start!
Stay tuned to see my works!
Meet Roberta on her blog, rich of interesting contents! http://www.simplyninepatch.blogspot.it
She has also a FB page
And she's an active Aurifil user, who provides free tutorials
You are a sweetheart! This is a wonderful idea, and I'm so glad you are encouraging reading as well as giving something the children will treasure. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLa tua gentilezza e' palese! I tuoi lavori a punto croce saranno certamente molto belli ma per i bambini saranno più di un regalo ! Brava Elly !
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Teachpany and Anna!
ReplyDeleteRoberta had this lovely and remarkable idea, quilters from all parts of Italy joined her and gave their best baby quilts.
I got the occasion to make (hopefully!) something good and - at the same time - try Aurifloss!
As we Italians say: "unire l'utile al dilettevole".
